Meet some of our collaborators and supporters who share our passion for bats and advocating for a species with crucial conservation needs.
Earlier in 2021, NRG Systems spent some time with Brittany Stamps, a graduate research assistant studying Wildlife Ecology at Texas State University. Brittany answered questions about her research that focuses on evaluating thermal video of different bat species and their acoustic responses to ultrasonic acoustic deterrent stimuli.
Earlier in 2021, NRG Systems was lucky to spend some time with Emma Guest, a graduate research assistant studying Wildlife Ecology at Texas State University. Emma answered some questions about her research that focuses on evaluating bat species-specific acoustic response to ultrasonic acoustic deterrent stimuli.
NRG Systems traveled to Bracken Cave Preserve in San Antonio, Texas, in October 2019. Owned and stewarded by Bat Conservation International (BCI), Bracken Cave is home to more than 15 million Mexican free-tailed bats, making it the world’s largest bat colony. Our team met with Fran Hutchins, Director of Bracken Cave Preserve, to learn more about the work BCI does to protect these bats as well as bats across the globe.
NRG Systems traveled to San Antonio, Texas, to spend time with Sara Weaver, a biology lecturer at Texas A&M University. Sara led critical field studies of our Bat Deterrent System while it was still in development and continues to work with NRG to enhance the efficacy of this pioneering technology.
